I've just replaced my old sky remote control , with a new one - same basic type .

However , whereas with the old unit , I could adjust the sound on the programmes - the new unit does not adjust the sound .

Does anyone know the reason why ?

thanks

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. I simply phoned the sky helpline number and they talked me through the procedure using the settings menu on screen. I honestly cannot remeber the details but I can remember it was very simple.
The new remote has not been syncronised/tied in to the make of your television . You need to go through the info screens to get the code for your make and model of TV when it is input your new remote will then be able to adjust the volume etc.
The booklet that came with your Sky box will tell you how to set up your remote control so that controls your TV.

Or you can use the sky active button ( above channel up down ) then into customer support, then choose remote set up and follow the instructions.
