I want to buy a PVR but the cheapest as it will not get much use. There is a programme on TV next Monday I think about Tigers which I would like but will not be in the night.
In this months edition of Which they mention a Durraband at 70gbp but i saw another in the Daily telegraph or Sundaytimes for 59.00 but I cannot remember the name or date it was within the last 10 days

If it's on the BBC, then you can watch it again on iPlayer - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer rather than shell out for a PVR. The Durabrand stuff is very cheap and basic if you don't mind that - you get what you pay for with any electronics.

If you're looking to buy it just for that one programme, then ask a friend to record it for you if it's not on the Beeb
PVRs are like so many items of home electrical goods in that you get what you pay for. Many cheap PVRs (less than 100) are far from reliable, prone to not recording programmes, switching themselves off and generally being a pain to live with. At 60 I doubt if the one you are thinking of buying is much different. But don't just take my word for it, check here on Digital Spy. This forum has lots of users all keen to share their experiences of PVR ownership.

The cheaper one are Tvonics and Digihome
Why not log on to Hauppage and look at their offering of a tv tuner to connect ot your PC and yuse your hard drive as the recorder?
