hi my boiler broke down almost 3 weeks ago after getting tired of waiting for lanlord to fix it(like my oven that been broken 7 months) i called sumone from yellow pages who charged call out charge of 60 quid to see me day after next. he came said it needed a part and asked my hubby for 180 quid upfront. hubby not being born here paid him when i found out i was like hmmm y u paid him for?i though tu pay afterthe job. anyway i called landlord to come round to witness the man in action and to inform hom anything i pay the repair man will come out of his rent.
so engineer says to landlord and my hubby that if we pay him 180 now he ll be back tomorrow(being thurs b4 easter) to fit the part. wel today i called said comany up and was informed tha engineers dont return to work til NEXT MONDAY which he didnt remember to mention while speaking to me or with hubby. to top it off i have 2 kids a 3 year old and 6months and my sister in law has a 3 week old. we have no heating or hot water and cant do any washing. and up here in the pennine area its really freezing house is colder than outside.
anywya where do i stand now regards to getting money back cos i think we paid for the part up front whereas if we dknown he b 2 weeks coming back not 1 day like he promised id have jsut paid his call out.
meantime still freezing here with babies
well to the point can i get any money back its alot of money to lose for us.
thanks
