Hi Petal,
click the start button.
click control panel,
page should come up with a load of icons on,
click Taskbar and Start Menu.
you should be able to suss it out, with a little patience.
Good Luck.

and the top bar looks different too..

Please help!
Question Author
hi VICTIMS

The start button has gone too!
Call for veryhelpfulguy, rojash, Buenchico Ethel to help.
Question Author
OK, will do..
Thanks shylock
It could just be that the bar has been resized to 'zero height'.

Try moving the cursor to the very bottom of the screen. If it turns to a double-headed arrow, it's resting on the top of the bar that you want. Hold the left mouse button down and drag it up slightly (to where the top of the bar should be).

There you are, they`re quick here.

already tried that Buenchico.

it was all here earlier. I must of pressed a button and it all went.

Now going to send out an SOS post :-)
Try running System Restore.

Press the Windows key (between Ctrl & Alt) instead of the Start button which you can't access. Then go to All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

Chris
Petal, once you have it back, place your cursor at the bottom of the screen in the middle of the bar and right click on it. A pop up menu will appear. Left click on 'lock the taskbar'. That will stop it from moving/disappearing again.
Question Author
pressed that button Chris, and nothing happened.

Think my pc must be a toy one from ELC

Thanks Aprilis.... will try that when the tool bar decides to return!
Switch it off.

Wait 10 seconds.

Turn it on again.

(It's amazing how often that works!)

Chris

Will give it a go.

Thanks :-)
Question Author
It worked!!

Thanks very much Chris for your help
Thanks for taking the time to post.

I was starting to panic that you might never be seen here again if your PC didn't like my rather brutal solution ;-)

Chris
But have you locked the taskbar Petal?!!
Question Author
A few people on here may of been relieved if that did happen lol
Question Author
hi Aprilis, when I right clicked on the toolbar, it was already set as locked!

I must of pressed a button wrong somewhere, obviously in my haste to reply on here lol

Thanks for your help :-)
Have you been pressing your F11 key?

I bet good money that's all it was.

Try it now - simply pressing F11 toggles 'full screen view' on and off. Nothing to be frightened of.
