I'm currently having problems with my TalkTalk Broadband, this is the first time in 8 months. I'm reasonably tech savvy, so i'm pretty sure the problem is on their end. I phoned their help line and answered all the usual questions, Name, address, postcode etc....Then she asked me to provide my bank details, i refused (the DD is paid from my girlfriends account, so i wouldn't disclose her details) She then said she couldn't proceed with my enquiry unless i did, i told her she had all the confirmation she needed. To which she hung up on me, has anyone else had this problem and is any other TalkTalk users having problems?

The thing is Weeal, this is the first problem i've ever had with them, if it's just an outage i'd be fine. But why should i have to give my girlfriends bank account details out, just to find out if they are having a problem?

Their customer service dept stinks..........I'm getting very peed off at their treatment.
me too, and it sounds awful for you
I can see the point in them asking the NAME of the bank just as a security measure, but never any more info than that, you were right to refuse
One of my friends works in customer services in a similar organisation and I remember her telling me that customers banking details are not available for the staff there to have a look at.

That sounds dodgy that you were asked that, I would have refused to hand out that details too.

Hi BTW :)

Hi Hun. :-)

I'm trying to get through as i type, i'm so glad myself and my next door neighbour have each others WEP keys for such an eventuality.
LOL, that's a good idea. It took *months* for BT to get their finger out and get my broadband sorted when I moved into this house. There was broadband connected but it wasn't letting me connect, I pondered whether it was cheeky to go and ask my neighbour to divulge their info so I could get online in the meantime......I didn't have the bottle in the end and remained internetless for most of the Summer!

How's things with you anyway?
I can get online okay but am struggliing to get my emails over the last couple of days.

I can't get them thro Outlok or on the webmail page

Anyone else?
Never, ever go with TalkTalk.

I had problems so I finished with them. I decided to go back to BT.

Trouble was TalkTalk wouldn't release my telephone number to BT so BT had to have give me a new phone number.

Imagine all the mither that caused advising people, even down to ordering a new name tag for the dog.

I wouldn't touch TalkTalk with a bargepole - a bunch of amateurs.
