i was wondering if the color black will burn onto my lcd tv.. because i hooked my compouter up to my tv via hdmi hook up and there is a slight black boarder around my desktop

Black being an absence of light, there is no way that it can burn itself into a display - on the other hand if white were to burn the display, you would be left with black!
