i have windows xp and every time i turn on my laptop wmplayer starts to run,i have discovered this by going into the task manager,its using98% of cpu ,how do i stop this

When i have used wm then closed it down the program is still running and using up all of the cpu causing my laptop to come to a standstill,i have to then go into the task manager and delete from there,there must be an easier way of stopping this,PLEASE HELP
