is it true if you play copied discs in an x box it can ruin it, my sons x box 360 has just packed in, and we have since discovered his sister had been watching copied dvds on it. everthing just died, we have taken it to another house and tried new cables but all we still get is a black screen and intermittent sound.

Sounds like rubbish to me.

Do you get the red lights on the front of the box? They have an issues with overheating, so this is perhaps the likely cause.

everything is normal except that the screen is blank

well rojash i can only tell it as i see it, so if you cant help give someone else a chance and shylock as for the green letters i have no idea but just looking through the site there are loads of us greenies lol
Sorry, schiehallion, I thought I was helping. My answer to you was shorthand for "No, if your machine has a problem it's pure coincidence, and definitely nothing to do with playing copied DVDs"
