Don't think a freeview box can record anything!
Sometimes, Henry, I wonder if you post deliberately confusing questions ;-)

What is normally referred to as a 'Freeview box' simply converts the digital information, which arrives through the aerial, into 'AV' signals which are fed via a Scart lead into a TV set. It doesn't record anything.

There are some recording devices (e.g. DVD recorders and PVRs) which incorporate a digital tuner so that they can record Freeview programmes. Those recording devices won't be able to record analogue signals unless they also incorporate an analogue tuner. However, since the 5 analogue channels are also available on Freeview, the actual programmes can still be recorded anyway.
