Bought one of these for wife's birthday last July and its been in box until today. I think I might have made an expensive mistake. Need to get a wall mount bracket before I install it but it has occurred to me that though it was purchased exclusively for use as a tv in the kitchen, it may be necessary to have it connected to a computer. IF this is the case, it is useless for my requirement. Can it be used as a stand-alone tv? Could someone let me know before I buy the wall mount.Cost over 150 and I no longer have the receipt.

It's got a built in tv tuner so should work as a stand alone tv.

Get it out of the box, plug it in and connect an aerial, It should be okay.

I cannot believe you threw away the receipt before even opening it !

I keep receipts for things like TVs, washing machines, cameras etc for at least 2 years.

I agree with Fay Mouse, if it has a built in TV tuner it should work without being connected to a computer.
Considering that you just opened the box, two questions spring to mind:
1. Why could you not read the user guide?
2. What's to stop you turning it on and seeing for yourself?
Hi...what you have is a tv......but if you want to be sure before you get round to buying a wallmount ..just plug-in the aerial and check that it works.
while you're at it .... I have a couple of sky hooks I'll do you at a very unreasonable price

Come and collect them and I'll throw in a long stand
