Conversion of copy-protected VHS tapes

I have a number of pre-recorded VHS cassette tapes which I'm trying to convert to DVD (no, not for resale or anything like that, just to save storage space and be able to get rid of my ageing VHS player).

I'm using a Toshiba "3 in 1" machine which has a hard drive, DVD and VHS facilities with dubbing available in either direction between any two.

Most of my tapes have dubbed OK, but a few of them (mostly Disney and the like) are copy protected (the swines!) something I did not know was available on VHS tapes. I can copy them neither to the hard drive nor DVD.

Any ideas how I can get round this problem?

Disney and other companies did this because it was evident that people were ignoring the copyright warning stating it is illegal to make copies

It can be done but not on your setup.

What do I need the, Ethel?
You need another VHS player, and connect it to your DVD recorder with a scart lead that removes macrovision protection.

Something like the Macro Master on here would do the trick

can u post an answer back here if you found the macrovision decoder above ( http://www.sonel.com/macrovision.html ) worked. I think if it did it would help a lot of people.
