I am totally addicted to spider solitaire and have no willpower to stop playing! I know how to remove it via control panel but need to remove it TOTALLY!! And without messing up the registry! Anyone help please???

I dont think you can remove it from the control panel! Not to my knowledge anyway! This solution applies for WIN XP! Might work for others as well. Open up my computer, locate the windows directory most probably be on your C drive! open the WINDOWS folder and then look for the system32 folder. In there you will find the file spider.exe. Delete that file! and jobs done! well make sure you delete from the recycling bin as well!

Thanks for that. What I meant by the control panel is 'settings, control panel, add/remove program'!!
I presume you are using XP, if so you do indeed use the control panel. Choose add remove programs, then in the left pane choose remove windows components. Highlight Accessories and utilitys and click details then games in the next window and select details again. Then untick the spider solitaire box and close all the windows down to the windows component one and choose next. Hey presto no more solitaire it can be reverse should you wish by rehighlighting it

Thats the problem. I don't want to reverse it. Need to obliterate so I can get on with my life!!!! I'm actually using windows ME.
