not exactly what I was looking for, I'm new to chatrooms & hear people playing their music in them & wish to know how they do this

Which chat rooms are you using forky? It could be music that's on everyone's computers as standard which you can run from some chatrooms by typing in commands (on AOL for instance, you type {s and then the filename. The sound/music is then played on everyone's computer but only if the standard sample is stored in the same place on their computer. I'm not aware of any way you can play you're own music to others in a chatroom unless you use some kind of group voice chat abd it picks it up from your microphone.

Indie: I think your right, you play through a mic but how do you play through a sound card ?
