tom tom wont turn on

help!! i have a tom tom go 300, whilst i was downloading on to it from my pc..it froze! and wouldnt turn off or on! when i 'reset' it .. it gets as far as loading the map.. then it goes on to the picture of two red hands then....nothing! freezes again! whats going on?
