Camera with San disc 512 mb full or empty??

I have a Vivitar DVR-200 and when I try to take a photo the screen shows 'Card full' yet when I try to delete anything that might be on it, the screen show 'No images' Is the disc useless now. Thank you for any help that is forthcoming. Regards
