Backing up iTunes - further question in addition to last weeks

I backed-up my iTunes onto a DVD RW last week without any trouble.

However, having downloaded more stuff, I've tried to re-back-up tonight and had the following problem :

The PC keeps asking for a blank disc, i.e. it won't recognise the one I backed-up on to last week!

Why?????

Because it needs a blank disc, and your one already has stuff on it. I'm not sure iTunes can blank discs for you.

You need something that can blank the discs for you. I don't think Windows can do this for you, but some burning software like Nero can do, or probably other free software (I can't recommend any, I'm afraid).

Ah! Thanks

I (obviously wrongly!) just assumed that I could simply over-write/use a DVD-RW just like I do for Word, Excel, etc.
