Most online job sites offer you the chance of registering your cv so potential employers can contact you. Has anyone done this? Have you ever been contacted?

Personally I normally don't bother with these CV submission services but search for specific jobs online and then post my CV and application to those specific jobs that I am interested in. Try UK Jobs Guide http://www.ukjobsguide.co.uk for an excellent directory of online job sites.
I have many applications online and so far nothing - but that could mean Im unemployable - isnt it worth a try?
in my experience, it's worth submitting your cv.

with a lot of these sites, when you submit your cv, they automatically get sent to recruiters - i submitted a new version of my cv yesterday lunchtime and got about 4 phonecalls from agents in the afternoon.

as long as you don't sign up for annoying junk mail services, you've got nothing to lose really.

I guess it depends on the availability of what you're looking for etc.. I think I'll give it a go - nothing to lose and all that. Cheers folks!
My daughter has just landed a great job this way. Good luck.
It's better to actively look for a job and let your profile be like a sitting duck. Some may contact you for job opportunities but a majority would rather entertain those who are actively looking for a job.

Yes, got hired from an online job site. There are legit jobs online, just be critical. Try Upwork for one.
