Is it possible to send a track that I have on my iTunes library to a friend by email?

Yes. If you bought it on itunes you will need to get round the DRM though. This is easy enough - just burn the song to disc as a music cd then import it to itunes and bingo, you have your DRM free song.

Thanks matt. What I also should have asked was how do I do it? I have tried adding it as an attachment but it looks like it tries to attach all of itunes instead of just one track.
iTunes stores your music in c:\documents and settings\[username]\my documents\my music\itunes\itunes music

usually sorted into folders for the artists and albums, so just find the song you want and bob's your uncle.

to make it easier to find, you can go into iTunes, find the song there, and then either just drag the song across (sometimes possible, but not always), or right-click the song and choose 'get info'. The location of the file will be at the bottom of the first tab in that window.
