HP 7750 power saving mode

Hi i just recently purchased a hp7750, its the slimline 1. However when the pc is left unattended it shuts down. This is great i am all for saving power however there are no clear instructions on how to power back up. I have tried everything and have resulted in killing the power at the plug.
This works and the pc fires up and all seems to be fine however i am concerned that this action will cause me problems in the future.
Does anyone know what the correct procedure as i have been through hours of online help manuals and cannot for the life of me find the solution.
