Can anyone please tell me, if it is possible to convert .wav files into .mpeg files. If so, what do I need to do this. Also, is it possible to record PAL video tapes from my video player, onto my computer, so that they can be put onto CDs..again if it is possible, what do I need to achive this. Many thanks..

WAV files are audio files and MPEG are generally video. You can convert the WAV's to MP3's which is effectively the audio equivalent of MPEG. Try here for some software and info... http://www.wav-to-mp3.com/ As for the video to PC problem, the thing is that all pre-recorded videos have a protection system called macrovision to prevent copying. There are video enhancers that "enhance" the signal to make the effects of macrovision invisible. If it is your own recordings then you will need a graphics card with VIVO (Video In Video Out) or a Video Capture card (Pinnacle make them for example). There is plenty of free capture software or you could purchase something like Sony Vegas or Pinnacle Studio which will do capturing and editing in one package.
