I seem to have got the hang of burning Data cds, but copying whole music cds are proving to be a bit more tricky. The burning process is successful, but the sound not heard on my music centre cd player - only on the computer. I have the Nero Express bundled with the Liteon CD-ReWriter. It's not easy to understand, so any help will be appreciated.

Im not entirely sure, but could it be that your music centre does not play burned CDs? Its just that whenever you see stereos in the shops, they always seem to have a sticker on them stating that they are CDR compatible.Have you got a DVD video player,if so try to play the disc in there,if it works ok,it could mean your music centre is not compatible with CDR.
Have you finalized the recording? Not many audio CD players will play "open" CDs.
This is very odd.I use Nero Burning Rom often, and if I copy a CD or use tracks taken from KaZaA-Lite, it burns em and plays em on any CD player including the car. I take it that you follow the Wizard instructions. The most obvious answer is that you are chosing the wrong option to burn. Without further info I cant say much more.

Thank you everyone for your replies. Le Marchand I did check and Nero automatically finalizes with the 'copy whole disc' option. Teak, I didn't realise you had to use 'once only' cd's and I've been using re-writable discs, also our music centre is a bit ancient, so it could be not compatible as you said.

Please don't go too far away as after I've bought different cds at the weekend I may need more help.

robber - I keep reading about a wizard, but he's missing on my program.

Music CD-RWs burnt on my P.C. will not play on my music centre but CD-Rs will so it looks like that may be the problem.

Thank you rinkydink, now I know for certain it's CDR's I need to buy. I wish software suppliers wouldn't automatically assume that everyone understands what the instructions mean - and also what they leave out!
I agree with the CDr theory. About Nero though. When Nero is opened, a window should appear with "new compilation " on the top left. On the right side at the top it has three little boxes "New, Cancel and Wizard". Click Wizard and it opens up for use.

Success! The CD-R was the answer - I hoped to be able to choose the tracks I wanted but had to burn the whole lot, still at least I can now hear the music anywhere.

robber - I think you must have the retail version, as I said mine was bundled with the re-writer so the lay out is completely different.
