I am trying to write a book on my PC, Notepad is rubbish and word, is not suitable for making drafts. What is an easy to use notepad option, that is ideally free that I can download to my PC. I have Edit Pad Lite, but it will not let me install the English spell check on the free option.

Have you tried Open Office? It's a free program and can be downloaded from the net

I concur with the above. Complete Microsoft Office replacement.
