I know that if I had a TV card, I could watch TV on my laptop,but does it work the other way round? I have a movie stored on my laptop that I would like to view on my TV.Is this possible?

Absolutely. If your laptop is fairly modern it may well have a composite video output to go to a TV, and if not, you can buy converting boxes that will take a monitor signal and give out a composite video signal
