Program files (like publisher) need to be uninstalled and reinstalled from their original discs as they create registry entries and stuff. Data files (like Word docs) can just be copied.

Thanks Rja much apprieciated 2 Questions please When I have reinstald Publisher, can I then copy my publisher files saved to disc straight back into new publisher . If by chance find anything dodgy as in worms ect on copied discs how do I clean it up before adding to new publisher I am changing computers
Its fine to transfer Microsoft Publisher files from one drive to another. This is as long as you dont 'downgrade' (go from office 2003 to office 2000) on your new system. As for the virues, you can do virus checks on the internet. One site I reccommend is: www.norton.com. Many Regards.
