I have had to reformat XP. On re-installing I find this scanner isn't now accepted by the programme. It worked well before. Any ideas how I can solve the problem please?

You will have got a CD with the ScanJet 3400C that contains drivers and other software for the printer.

Have you re-installed that ?

If you have not got the CD then you can probably download the code from the HP web site.

Thanks for your comment. i have indeed used the installation disk to no avail. Since writing I have been to the HP website where i found a special download 'sj652.exe' which I am pleased to say has solved the problem. XP doesn't support this scanner so HP suggested this solution.
