lodos tv standby light will not go off

My lodos tv sets red standby light will not go off when I press channel no on pannel or remote. The set will not power up. I also hear a ticking from the tv rater like a clock. Can enyone help? Val

Ticking like that, I guess the switch mode power supply has gone faulty ( probably a cap) .Just have to take it to a shop unless you know a friendly nerd
