email forwarding

A friend of mine used to be on virgin network and changed recently to talk talk.The only Emails he is getting are mine .Does he have to let everyone know he has changed networks he seems to think they will be forwarded automatically or is there another reason he is not getting other emails.Thanks

Tell them your new address quickly or lose contact, I can't see why Virgin would pass forward any emails going to a dead email account and how eould they know where to send them?
