Deleting website visits

Have tried, several times, TOOLS>INTERNET
OPTIONS >GENERAL>DELETE FILES and
DELETE HISTORY, all to no avail. A long outdated
history just gets longer, and I can't shift it.
Can anyone help, please ?

Download Ccleaner this is a free piece of software that when set up should safely remove all history, temporary files and cookies etc.

Same type of thing, you have to tick the boxes on what you want it to remove when you first set it up.

After 18 months of frustration this is a splendid outcome;
