I want to buy a Cam corder in the � 3-400 range any recommendations on type/format please?

Choose a digital model if available at that price range, other than that they're all much the same these days

If you intend to use your PC to edit images S-Video/USB2 is a good idea for the transfer of Data so ensure it has the option for it. Though for USB2 you will need a PC adapter and for S-Video a supported graphics card.....both cheap though
