Desktop shortcut.

How can I create a desktop shortcut for Googlemail ? The usual 'right click create shortcut' isn't offered as an option. I've never had this problem before. Any help will be much appreciated. There's nothing in the G Help section.

Draging the small explorer icon in the top left corner of the web page to your desk top will create a shortcut for the page you are viewing.

I use Mozilla, and strange things happened. I could see no icon, so simply dragged the words Google mail. An icon appeared on the monitor, but it would only open in My Pictures. Thanks for the advice, anyway.
Download Gmail Notifier from here:

It places an icon in system tray from where you can access Google direct. I also have one on the tool bar but cannot remember exactly how I got it - perhaps if you examine their toolbar might help.
