outlook express not saving old sent messages by date sent

I use Outlook Express but have a problem when trying to access old sent emails.
Although it seems to save all sent emails in the 'sent items' file, it only seems to keep sent emails in date order for about 6 weeks and then the rest of the emails are all just listed below in aparent random order.
Is there something I can do to sort this out so that they are all listed with the date they were sent?

Also, the sent items which have a date attached show who the email was sent to in the "To" column but the others nearly all seem to have my name on the "To" column instead of who I actually sent them to.

I hope this make sense!

Have you tried clicking on the word 'sent' at the top of the column? This should place your e-mails in chronological order, with the most recent mails appearing either at the top or bottom of the list. (Clicking again reverses the order).

This just turns the list of emails upside down Chris.
The emails that have a date attached are already in chronological order - it is the ones with no date attached that are the problem.
Thanks anyhow.
