Video camera as web cam, is it possible ?

Hi all, I know that it's over the top but could I connect up my Video camera to my PC via firewire and use it as a web cam ?
I was thinking of getting a new webcam but the quality from my video camera would be superb ?.. or maybe it cant be done ?

Yes, it can be done depending on the type of video camera you have. But it is not a good method for sending live video to someone online. You are unlikely to have a fast enough broadband connection or a fast enough processor to handle the 'superb' resolution.

There are some video cameras however that can be set as a webcam and will capture in a small resolution that can be processed by a home computer. Refer to your handbook or online help for your model.
