I bought a top from ebay and it turned out to be fake. Cost me 79 and i wasnt happy. Contacted the seller and he agreed to take it back and give me a refund. I sent it back 1st class only, over a week ago and he claims he has not recieved it. Somehow, I dont really believe him. Now i have lost out on 79, the top, and the postage cost for sending it back. What can I do? I am new to ebay and didnt expect this to happen so soon.

if the seller was selling it as genuine, report them to ebay. Do you have proof of posting? It woont help you now but always get proof of posting (free), and again, it wont help now but you could have sent it back recorded. Its up to you to take it up with royal mail now, although they wont do anything till 28 days, as it could still be deliverd
How did you pay.

If you used paypal you can set up a dispute and claim money back

Thanks you both for the answers. I paid by paypal so there was proof that i payed. Sent it back 1st class standard not recorded but got a reciept so i have proof of sending it back. Nobody knows whether he recieved it, he could be lying. Will report it as he advertised it as 100% genuine. Thanks and will be sending everything recorded delivery only from now on.
Don't let it put you off ebay though. I've conducted over 1200 exchanges, about half of those buying goods, and only had one bad experience.
The problem you have here is, how do you prove that it wasn't genuine to paypal?? No garment, no case?
