american electrical equipment to be used in the uk where can i buy a transformer??? well I think thats what I need! You see , I bought some electrical equipment from the states , now I need something to convert 240v to 110v . What am I asking for ( is it a transformer ) and WHERE can I buy one ???

Kind of apropos. Pual and in case you aren't aware, the transformer gives off heat as it does its job. We brought home a microwave and a breadmaker 10 years ago and had them running in the kitchen off the transformer. It got quite warm and we had to make sure we kept it well ventilated for safety
