Is it possible to enlarge a thumbnail to 6x4inch photo using a graphics program by increasing the color depth and size or somehting or would it be all mosaicy?

yes it would look totally rubbish. But depends where you are getting it from if its on a website it maybe a full size picture which is shrunk by the HTML try clicking on it and saving it, then open in a graphics package. Unlikely but might work
