Hi,
I've now got Windows Messenger rather than the MSN I had on my old (WIN98) PC. Then I had the option to login in offline status so I could see who was around before they could see me. Can't seem to do that now. Do I need to de install Windows Messenger & re install an older version ?
Cheers

Hey!

You mean the MSN Live version? Thats simple ... just go on to your main MSN page where your contacts are listed, then go on the drop down arrow right next your MSN screen name then chose your status.

Hope this helps.

Hi, AWC4eva, I can do that once I've connected but with the 'old' version I could 'connect as offline'. Can't seem to do that with this newer one so my contacts know I'm there before I get a chance to change to 'offline'. Haven't always got time for a chat !
select " appear offline " BEFORE you sign in.

maviscoull, that's the whole point, there's no option to "appear offline" before I sign in *sigh*
Guess I will have to de install after all ...
