i have a collection of songs on my C drive which are MP3 audio files, Can i burn these directly onto CD or do i need to convert them first? If i have to convert them, how could i do this, please

It depends on what you are going to play them on: a PC will recognise and play mp3s as will some other audio devices. However, a lot don't so burn it as a music CD : both Nero and Easy CD creator will automatically convert .mp3 and .wav files to .cda files which nearly every audio device will play. Note: .cda will pad out the track that .mp3s remove so you will only get upto 20 .cda tracks on a CD (depending on the lenght and quality of the tr5ack) whereas you can get 200 .mp3s on 1 CD.

An even easier way (If you are running Win XP Pro) is to select the files you want on CD, right click on them and select 'Burn to CD'. Win media player will then help you along the way, and of course it comes with Windows so it wont cost you anything!
