Adding memory to laptop

Can anyone tell me if it is easy to add memory to a laptop. Someone mentioned to me a plug in type of memory but I really don't want something that will protrude. Are there any alternatives that could be added to the motherboard or something perhaps?

In the laptops I have had, adding laptop memory has usually been a case of opening a small cover on the bottom of the laptop and pushing in the memory.

It is very easy, but may not be the case with all laptops.

Have a look at the documentatoin that came with the laptop to see if they explain.

I strongly recommend Crucial - it scans your computer and tells you the best memory for your computer. It guarantees compatibility.

You can buy the memory off them, or use the info to buy elsewhere. I bought off them, it arrived next day and was very easy.

Laptop memory is usually more expensive than desktop, though.
