do you have access to an infra red connection port or other method? and does your phone have HSCD or is there anything about a modem in your phone?

I have an infra-red port on my laptop, and it also has an internal modem. My issue is to do with using the phone line to dial-up. Sorry, I do not know what HSDC is, so couldn't tell you whether my phone has it.
