I have had this player in regular almost daily use for several years. Now anything playing through it is only in black and white. I have checked this in the set up and is showing as colour. Is it worth my consulting an 'expert' or is it likely be 'incurable'
Can anyone offer advice please - thanks

As you can buy combination dvd players/ video recorders for under 100 it would probably be uneconomical to have yours repaired.

Any repair is going to cost 30 at the very minimum, probably much much more.

The sales are on - see if there are any bargains to be had.

Thanks Ethel I already have a separate DVD recorder with hard disc that I have had since last Christmas but not totally 'mastered' I have an old combi TV which records and plays videos so I may try to live without video player downstairs for now and concentrate on DVDs
Connect your dvd recorder to your tv/video combi and record your tapes onto dvd.

If your dvd recorder also archives to removable disk, of course!

good idea in theory but combi is on wall upstairs and DVD recorder in downstairs living room and don't have a great deal worth saving mostly kiddie things the grandchildren have long outgrown
thanks anyway
