When you buy a new computer, I see PC World offer a service (for a fee, of course) where they will transfer all the data from your old PC on to your new one.
What I'd like to know is - can't I do it myself? Is it difficult?

Of course you can do it! And if you use dvds or cds to transfer the data, you will have created a back up too!

Here is an excellent article:

However, you may just want to transfer documents and so on, which may be a better idea if your pc is full of 'junk'.

That can easily be done by copying on to cd/dvd/ usb flash drive and downloading on to the new pc.
