does anyone know where I can find the software for a TDK Global Freedom 5660 modem for mac? I have the old TDK 26k modem for my equally old Mac Powerbook 1400cs. But I can't get the new modem to be recognised and the tdk website does help?

Good and bad news: I found the driver here: http://www2.driverguide.com/uploads/uploads9/14946
.html
(if asked use drivers as the username, all as the password) but the bad news is I can't download it. I suggest emailing the driver guide or to the author (Chris Gouldbourne) directly. It also doesn't say what version of OS it was written for but it looks old (late 2001).
Why didn't I do the obvious thing first? Try http://www.tdksystems.com/support/drivers/range.as
p?id=7
and download the Mac OS driver (tdk5660.hqx). BTW, I found the website very easy to navigate, they even give you instructions.

that link looks great, the TDK, I think i've found the right download, can i download the file using my pc saving it on a floppy and then uploading it using my mac? The OS is ancient, os5 i think
Yes, the file is pretty small (661 k) which will fit on a standard 1.44 MB floppy disk. I assume the Mac has a floppy drive (it sounds old enough to have one) so you should be fine.
Question Author
nope, it doesn't work, mac can't read the file type! pain, but i shall have to use the mac to download the file.
Question Author
just wanted to say cheers, it worked using the mac to download the file...took a while, 28k is almost snail pace after all but it worked.
