Do i need to turn off the wireless light on my Bt Hub?

I have a BT Hub at home which is connected to my a laptop through the Etharnet port.On the hub there is 4 lights.Wireless,Broadband,Internet & Data.

My question is i don't use wireless & the wireless facility on my Laptop is switched off so even though the wireless light is on can someone still get on to my broadband?.

If i do need to turn off the wireless light off on my hub does anyone know how to?
