Whats Free & the easiest way to convert individual tracks from my audio cds to MP3. Basically I want to put my favourite songs from my record collection so my in car mp3 player can play them

What you want to do is called 'ripping' - changing music from one format to another.
If you go to ZDnet.com and do a search in the downloads section it will bring you back a number of apps that will do what you want.
I've done a search for you with just the free ones:

Look for "CD Extractor" - it's free and does exactly what you want. Also quite handily connects to CDDBs and retrieves track names for you too.

Windows media player is free can rip the CD easily and also links to CDDB.
