I have an up-to-date subscription to NAV. However, about once a week, I get a pop-up message requesting me to activate it. I do this and get a confirmation message with a product key (the same long combination of letters and numbers which I have already received previously).

Why does this happen?

I dont know for sure, but this happens with mine too (although not as often). Im assuming it is a way to check you are not running an illegal copy. I imagine that the activation request also sends the IP address of your computer to Symantec so they can check whether the same copy is registered on another PC.

I dont think its anything to worry about.

Hope this helps.
