Error downloading codecs

Hi i am trying to play some videos I downloaded through media player and keep getting the error downloading codecs. Then get sound but no picture. Any ideas??? I get the same thing playing through real player.

If you download and install a codec pack such as this one, you should be able to play anything. I've used this one myself once and it worked fine. I think it includes a media player but you can choose to not install it (I didn't use it).

It is quite big though, 17MB or so so might take a while to download.

Just get vlc and you codec problems go away:
