If you have not got the photos backed up on CD or DVD then BACK THEM UP.

A hard disk can crash at any point and you can lose EVERYTHING.

A flash pen is no good as it can get lost, or files can be overwritten or deleted.
You could also store your photo's free online, storing them on your pen is not a good idea, you could always just zip them with winzip, that will compress them so they take up less room or send them to someone who can put them on CD for you if you cant do it yourself.
External hard drives are getting cheaper every week.

Excellent for storing photos, music and so on.
Also sign up to flickr for free (up to a certain number of sets and photos anyway); they'll store your photos for you (you can make them private too if you want), and they'll be stored offsite too, which is even safer.
