I come here quite often to pick up tips but sadly my knowledge precludes posting often. I saw a tip a few days ago about a music player and took their advice in downloading it. I returned today to thank them and found not only was there some caustic comments from a goon, but that you'd made comments about the practices of this site and including both of them in your criticism. In my humble opinion I think you've done yourself and this site no good at all. I think this person whoever he/she is took the trouble to post this recommendation; contributors could take it or leave it. There was a caustic comment and you lumped them both together in the same breath. What's so wrong with a recommendation then? Itsn't that what we're all here for. If you must complain, please point to the right person.

This ain't nuthin' to do with me...alright, but Here Here!
I assume that you refer to the posting headed Default Music Player. This was responded to by a very foolish answer which the original poster in turn responded to aggressively.
I consider that the AB Editor's response was in order, and was probably designed to convey a message to all users including the two protagonists. The Ed's message does not appear impolite to me.
I offer a sporting analogy where the responder to a foul committed by an offender is also quite often shown a yellow card.
drillhammer - I note that the original contributor *appears* in his/ her last response to appreciate the comment I made: http://new.theanswerbank.co.uk/DisplayAnswers.go?q

It's not easy to tell, sometimes, because you cannot tell the tone of voice being in this medium. I would suggest, however, that my comment there was "friendly, polite". I am naturally disappointed if you have a problem with that. But that's the way we intend to keep this site.
