my delightful flatmate knocked my monitor off my desk and destroyed it, as well as mangling the monitor connection in the back of my pc. someone told me u can buy monitors with a usb connection but i've been looking online and cant find one. does anyone know if this is true? if it is, where can i get one? or maybe an adapter?

ive never heard of such a thing, i imagine your using your onboard graphics and so my advice would be to buy a low priced graphics card, either AGP or PCI, which ever your pc can support
I agree with boink!!
I think someone was confused about the fact that some monitors used to have a built in USB hub. They still need a video connection though. Boink's suggestion makes sense. If the graphics adaptor is onboard, you will probably need to disable it in CMOS. If it was separate, you can just oik it out and replace it,

Is it sad that i treated the loss of my computer like the loss of a relative? i've been devestated over the past few days.
