Hi all. If im playing an mp3 on my pc and insert a CD or DVD in the drive, the sound mutes for a second then comes back louder than before. What could be causing this? Iv checked if the drive is on DMA or PIO and is on DMA. Any ideas?

It sounds to me as though your placing a cd or dvd in the tray is making the computer switch from one source to another. I wouldn't have thought this mattered very much, except if you want to equalise the volume go to the Control Panel, double-clicking 'Sounds and Audio Devices' - Audio tab and adjusting the various volume levels there.
